Wanted-Compounds for Cold Blueing.Hi,
members who may be having any cold bueing compounds or chemicals for sale are welcomed to contact me.Iam into a project regarding repair of my Bro-in law IOF 22 Rifle Mags and Iron Sights. regards.
Re: Wanted-Compounds for Cold Blueing. For repairing of magazine and sights, I think you won't need bluing material.
I hope other members will agree with me.
Re: Wanted-Compounds for Cold Blueing. The V notch of the rear sight & bead on the front sight is damaged both have to be filed away and replaced by locally available steel pieces after fabrication as exactly as it was and after this work is over,Iam going to rub out all the surface old blue with abrasive paper and regarding the magazine, due to improper storage it has rusted and Iam going to cut the 10 rnd mag and convert it into a 5 rnd mag .I want the finish to be aesthetically pleasing as u can't have a unblued Front and Back sight, the glare of filed(Shiny) metal will make it difficult to shoot and after some time it will rust unless blued. These are small pieces of matel and I would not bother for going for hot bluing (Ref-Pavanmex informative Posts) unless the barrel and reciever was also involved. Also, the back sight is like BRNO 1 , with three Leafs of which the middle post of 50 mtr graduation is damaged not like regular IOF factory rifle which have sliding Sights like BRNO 2.The rifle in question was a modified IOF one.
Iam not a Gunsmith, these activities regarding guns are a passion and hobby for me. regards
