IHP pistol, New B Needs Advice

PostAuthor: hikohli » Thu Aug 09, 2012 9:15 pm

Hi All,

I'm new to Pistol shooting and have joined a local shooting range in Delhi.
i'm doing ok as of now in terms of performance and using morini .22 provided by the range people, i inquired about purchasing one and one of the official told me that it would cost me around 1.25 lakhs.
I want to know whether its utmost necessity to buy imported pistols ? can i use IHP pistol for state and national level shooting competitions?
any suggestions would be highly appreciated

Regards

A Nu-B gunner

Brother you say that right now you are practicing with a morini .22 and you are inquiring for buying an IHP pistol. As far as pistol is concerned IHP only manufactures .177 air pistol. What event are you exactly into?

Imported weapons are necessary if you want to play seriously at AIGVMSC and NSCC. If you are only planning to have fun and do not wish to participate into serious competitive shooting than you do not need to buy an imported weapons.

i introduced my self and have gone through posts, i have seen people writing good things about IHP pistols.
but i couldnt find any review on IHP pistol for target shooting and do we have IHP compressed air pistols too? i have asked one of my coaches at range about IHP, he said all are "Bakwas" except morini, pardini and styer.
People please pour in your advices.

Thanks in advance :-)

You may get a second hand or a new IZH in India. But as you said earlier that you want to go for serious competitive shooting than it is better to buy a morini or steyr. I am also into 10 meter pistol shooting and at present using club's morini. I have not used steyr so cant comment on that but majority of shooters use morini and steyr.

And yes IHP is manufacturing compressed air pistol(costs around 10k). But it is no were in comparison to morini or styer. Considering the qualifications scores required for participating at AIGVMSC and NSCC it is nearly impossible with an IHP pistol.

Since you are from Delhi, come to The Dr. Karni SIngh range on a Saturday and meet Mr. Wajid the Air pistol / rifle coach. He will give you the correct advice and guide you and find out if one is for sale in Delhi itself.
