Laser Dot Sight for Handguns

PostAuthor: shahid » Mon May 28, 2007 1:56 am

This is my new development project. Perfecting the shooting of Handguns through the use of laser dot sights mounted on the trigger guard of handguns. We tried it first on COLT 1911 Govt, by Umarex, 4.5 mm Automatic. Later on a Beretta .32 ACP and Walther PPK .22 LR.

The grouping improved by 60 to 65 % every time.

I mounted a Laser on trigger guard on my Baretta ,the results were Damn good.later i removed it as it was very difficult to carry the pistol with it .though the laser was ditachable, the mounts were fitted permanently & the laser was detachable.i sold the pitol but still have the sight ,Now plannin to fit on my new handgun (walther ppk)

Hi Baadshah, good to see you here.

For Walther PPK a different mount comes, because the trigger guard of Walther PPK is pulled down to release the barrel spring. This model does work with Walther PPK but it is quite tapered when mounted and in many cases the windage and elevation adjustments might not be enough to zero it at the higher point of impact.

I think, for a 1911 style pistol, Crimson Trace laser site grips would be a better choice.

Sure it is. A much better grip. But not available in Dubai or India. The ones we have is by Winchester, but made by some other firm for them.

Hi Shahid Bhai,
Have an old red dot sight i d purchased in the US a few years back... i fitted it on the barrel underside of my dad's C96 Mauser Broom Handle. The mount i used was plastic (both plastic and metal mounts were provided) but it started spoiling the blueing. Any tips on how to avoid it.

Also like to buy these crimsontrace lasers on the grip for my .32 S&W J Frame 2 inch snubnose 31-1 . Now i m confused if its a round butt or Square?? Did they make em in square or were they made only in round butt.

Hi!
Even though no one has visited this thread for 6 years now, I am trying my luck. My query is:
"Are laser dot sights (whether grip, trigger-guard, or any other type) available for IOF Ashani .32" Pistol?"

Best of my knowledge laser dot sights are available for new generation arms. Manufactures are not intrested for making old models and no provision of mounting in earlier design arms.
You will not find for iof pistol/ revolvers becouse of two reasons
1- their is no acceptance of iof arms in internatiol market and all of laser sight manufacturers situated outside india so why any one make or design for a model which they never seen or heard
No provision of mounting in iof for these type of attachments as all the weapons manufuctured by iof are copy of old model foreign make pistol/ rivolvers/ rifle.
You can only try to use glow in night paint..
