Some modification suggestion for IHP

PostAuthor: prasad.tamhane » Tue May 14, 2013 1:27 am

Hi Guys,

This is my small suggestion (still work in progress) to improve the quality of IHP compressed air rifle. I am going to meet Mr. Makhija to see if this modification can be possible or not.

Let me know your suggestions!!!!

Hi Guys,

I hate when people with no technical background keeps blabbering about how good the imported weapons are and how sh## the Indian made are. I do admire the fact that Anschutz and Walther are way far ahead in accuracy and technology. But fact still remains that you can not compare apple with banana. I have great respect about IHP because I do visit their factory and these guys work on manual lathe and milling machines. Now to put this in perspective - I used these same machines when I was in college. Nobody uses these anymore. They require real skills.

Coming back to my motive - I believe that if given a proper guidance and technical support even we can make good weapons in India. The main constraint is cost. A good weapon (may be as accurate as imported one if not better) will be at least cost around 50K INR. I am sure, even if the weapon is as good as imported, people will buy imported one by paying double the amount. This is because we always see Indian made as inferior.

In my club, we only have one imported .22 weapon. Maximum of three shooter can use it. Just to overcome I converted one open sight .22 Brno mod 2 to peep sight with merely 40K. Now atleast three more shooters can have the experience of playing in peep sight event. I am planning these modifications shown here in my compressed air rifle once I get it. I even have concepts designs for detachable compressed air cylinder for IHP (it can only be added to new rifles and can not be modified to existing rifles) but for that I need the blue prints of existing rifle to go on CAD and model the rifle and check the working on software.

It will take time for all the above changes to actually take shape as I don't get much time after my day job. But will post as and when it will take place. Hope this clarifies what I would like to achieve - a well designed Indian Made Rifle.

Regards

Prasad
