Hello,

Yesterday, for the first time since last NSCC, we used and tested our weapon system and equipment that we will be using in the upcoming NSCC… So, though of sharing the details (Showing-off)…

This time we will be using Heym SR-21 in .30-06cal with Match Stock, 26inch heavy fluted match barrel and Gehmann Diopter Sight assembly, which is aligned off-sight (approx. 7mm off from the bore-line) which we got made and assembled a few days back…

The ammunition that we will be using is the Sellior & Bellot factory loads with 168grain Sierra Match King HPBT heads…

So, initially we tested the Ammo & Rifle combination using bench-rest with scope mounted… which gave us a pretty tight 10-shot groups of around 1.2 inches… thereafter, we switched to Peep-Sight in prone position and fired around 50 shots each… Although, I personally didn’t get satisfactory results that I hoped for in the beginning, in-fact not even close, but still was able to manage some tight groups in the last few shots fired…But, still very far away from I where ended last NSCC on personal performance front…

All-in-all, it was a good session (an eye-opener)… now its all up to a lot of (very necessary) Dry Firing practice to get some stability in the match position, which by the way, seems to be a distant dream because of the busy official schedule (with a lot of tours lined up) because of the FY closing…Moreover, this time at NSCC, there will be NO Electronic Scoring System… a big draw back… Suddenly, 475 is starting to look a lot tougher...
