S.S. I guess you also got a CB or BB cap in full length .22 lr case also made by K.F. ( I guess made on special order) where do you manage to get such exotic ammo. A picture would be worth a thousand words.

I have never seen or heard of LG being made by IOF.
In all probability someone has loaded LG pellets in an IOF KF Special cartridge and got his own overshot card printed, many enthsiasts do it, even I have it for No. 4 and No. 6 and a cutting tool for the overshot card and a turning tool for closing the cartridge crimp.

In fact for better pattern ( shot pattern ) it is a very good idea to print these and replace them for the plastic overshot card that KF special uses, it eliminates the cartwheeling in shot pattern.

These days the IOF colour code is.

BB - white
No 1 - Yellow
No 2 - Green
No 4 - Black
No 6 - Orange
No - 7 Blue

If anybody knows for no 8 then please fill in I dont see them in the market these days.

The last time IOF made LG cartridges was way back in the 70s.I had managed to get three boxes from an army officer in 1972.The price was about 5/- a cartridge.There was no problem in hunting,so all were used on blue bulls and wild boar.Even bagged a couple of black bucks with them.The results were excellent. Dont know why IOF ultimately stopped the production.

IOF did not only stopped their production but in 1992 govt. of India imposed restrictions on owning 12 gauge cartridges having diameter above 5 mm. Most probably this was done to stop illegal hunting.

P.S. Shamsher - What is the size of these cartridges? Are they 65 mm or 70 mm.
